Biking - Mountain and Road

•	Mokelumne River - Salt Springs Reservoir: Located off Hwy. 88, 4 miles past Ham's Station, down Ellis Road. 9 miles down to the Mokelumne River, follow the river until the road ends at the top of the dam.

Parks and Public Land

Chaw'se Indian Grinding Rock State Historical Park - 209-296-7488 This 135 acre park was named for the huge bedrock mortar that the Miwoks used to grind some of their food; acorns, nuts, seeds and berries. The 7,700 sq. foot limestone outcropping has 1,185 motor holes (chaw'ses) and 363 petroglyphs. Some of the village of the Northern Miwok Native Californians and the Chaw'se Regional Indian Museum. Hiking trails, including some with wheelchair access, nature trails, picnic sites and campground. Open daily. Admission $5 per car. Call for museum hours1234 Pine Grove/Volcano Road, Pine Grove.
